Open Farm Sunday – 9th of June 2019

Fancy learning more about where your food comes from? Why not pop along to Open Farm Sunday on the 9th of June? Open Farm Sunday is a national event which enables members of the public to learn more about where their food has come from and support the British farming industry whilst also enjoying a fun filled day out for all the family. Feel free to come along and see what we have to offer!

Whats on?

We have a wide range of activities organised to ensure that there is something for everyone. Activities include:

    • Tractor and Trailer Rides
    • Meet the farm animals
    • Tortworth Plants Open Nursery, Plant Sale and Skittle Alley
    • Visit St. Leonard’s Church
    • Tortworth Primary School Fete
    • Farmers’ Market
    • Children’s Activities
    • Self-Guided Walks
    • Demonstration Marquee
    • Static Display of Farm Machinery

In addition to our range of activities our award winning farm shop and cafe will be open all day. We will also have a few of our suppliers visiting with tasters, giving you a chance to try before you buy!

Demonstration Timings

10:00 – Event Opens
11:00 – Butchery Demonstration
12:00 – Cookery Demonstration
13:00 – Sheep Shearing Demonstration
14:00 – Butchery Participation Demonstration
14:45 – Machinery Demonstration
15:00 – Farming Question and Answers Session
16:00 – Event closes

Tractor Rides will be running all day and a milking the cows demonstration will also be held at Elm Tree Farm from 11:00 – 12:00pm.


The event itself is a free day out with all ages welcome and free parking is available all day at Tortworth Estate Shop.
