CHEF

We are a small family business comprising of a Farm Shop & Cafe established in 2003.
We have a position in our busy kitchen for a Friday and Saturday Chef.
The ideal candidate will have previous kitchen experience, be able to cook under pressure & take pride in every meal sent out, being a team player is very important. Basic food hygiene is preferred & any qualification above that welcomed.
There is a fully stocked farm shop at hand with lots of fresh local and seasonal produce. We produce simple but high-quality dishes from breakfasts to afternoon teas and can easily serve well over 150 tables a day.
The work required would be on Fridays 8:00am-5:15pm and Saturdays 7:00am - 5:15pm
19-20 Weekly hours.
Main responsibilities include cooking and baking fresh dishes for the week. Most importantly you will need the confidence to remain cool and run the pass.
Up to Three people work in the kitchen. The Chef on the day will run the hot pass and the Assistant Chef will be required to run the sandwich and salad preparation area providing all the garnished dishes and making all sandwiches, panini's, baguettes and specific set dishes that are ordered.
There will be daily set up and preparation tasks such as; breakfast preparation and lunch preparation along with helping to deliver morning goods such as fresh scones, soups, hot mains specials.
All of our food is great quality and prepared from fresh and we use much of our own produce as well as supporting other local producers. We serve simple, honest and hearty food all day. Starting off with a busy breakfast service through the lighter lunches at "brunch" and then our main lunch time where we would serve more of our homemade lunch specials.
In the afternoon we offer an Afternoon Tea and serve mainly cakes and drinks.
Other duties in a day include completing kitchen logs such as temperature charts, stock control and labelling and a full clean down each day.

On any day there would be a minimum 8-12 staff between the café/kitchen and farm shop/butchery side of the business and in all there’s about 28 fellow colleagues to meet.

We are looking for;
Hours of work are between 8:00-5:15pm and vary per role.
The rate of pay for each role will increase depending on experience. There will be a pay
review after completing your three-month probation period.
The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and great customer service skills.
You will work in a close team to deliver quality local produce and a great customer experience.
Knowledge of food, service, and the local area are great attributes along with the willingness to learn the various tasks and duties.
The roles entail working on your feet for long periods in a busy environment so
organisation, stamina and keeping a calm under pressure is what we are looking for.
